The Big South women’s basketball champion is preparing for greener pastures but thick, long grass that is going to be difficult and likely impossible impossible to penetrate.
Still, the opportunity is unprecedented. PC has never won a championship before.

Presbyterian College is holding a watch party on Sunday at Templeton Center to celebrate the women’s basketball team’s assignment in the NCAA Tournament.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the ESPN selection show starts at 8.
According to the release, the celebration is going to be “filled with anticipation, camaraderie and Blue Hose spirit.”

So there’s that, plus meeting the team, getting autographs and winning “exciting giveaways” throughout.
What’s more, “exclusive Blue Hose merchandise” is available.
It doesn’t get easier. Speculation holds that PC (19-14) is destined to face top-ranked South Carolina (32-0) in Columbia.

South Carolina won the regular-season game between the two, 99-79.
Presbyterian (20-14) won the Big South tournament on Sunday in High Point, N.C., defeating Radford, 60-37. The Blue Hose are making a first-ever appearance in the women’s tournament field.

Presbyterian (9-8) led The Citadel, 2-0, after 3-1/2 innings, but the Bulldogs tied the score with two runs in the bottom half of the fourth and edged the Blue Hose, 3-2, at Riley Park in Charleston on Tuesday.
Left fielder Rhogue Wallace went 3/4, all singles. Wallace and Brody Fahr stole bases. Joel Dragoo and Jackson Hugus also collected a hit. Hugus’s was a double.

Seven PC pitchers toed the rubber. The fourth, Jeffrey Hayes (0-3) took the loss, giving up a run off two hits. Sean Hollister went two shutout innings to start.
The Citadel (11-5) produced five batters with two hits apiece: Thomas Rollauer, Javier Crespo, Anthony Hausner, Garrett Fuller and Travis Elliott.
Rollauer doubled. Wells Sykes stole a base.

Morris (1-0) was the winning pitcher, one of eight to toil for the Bulldogs.
