It’s seldom a good sign when someone answers a question by saying, “I just do.”
Everyone has a right to say it. For instance, if you ask me why I dislike raw onions, I might say, “I just do.”
Most issues, though, have reasons. Maybe bad reasons, but reasons.
I don’t like Broome High School because I don’t like to write out “Centurions.”

I don’t like the word “utilize” because most of the time, it’s no better than “use.”
Even though I try to be against stupidity, sometimes what I think is stupid.
The most significant inalienable right not mentioned in the Constitution is the right of stupidity. Truly, without freedom of stupidity, the world would collapse, writhing in agony.
It may do that, anyway.

Steve Englehart

Presbyterian head football coach Steve Englehart takes the Blue Hose to DeLand, Fla., for yet another stab at getting over the Pioneer Football League.
On the past three Saturdays, PC as, in ascending order, fallen by six points to San Diego, seven to Morehead State and three to Drake. The first and third were in overtime.
Presbyterian (2-6, 0-4) lost on a scoop-and-score, fourth at the one, and a touchdown following a Blue Hose field goal.

The Blue Hose keep hanging there, waiting for something good to happen to them.
“We’re playing well enough to win,” Englehart said. “A lot of credit to our kids. They’re playing really hard. They play tough.
“That’s one thing I’ll say about our guys. Over the last several years, they show up every week. They prepare. They work really hard in practice. They stay together. They stay connected, and they play extremely hard. There’s no give-up in our team, and there won’t be any give-up this week, either.”

Either by miss or block, PC has missed four field goals and four extra points in the last four games.
Presbyterian has lost five games in a row by a combined margin of 150-102, the last four by 108-81, the last three by 60-44, the last two by 33-23 and last week by 19-16.

Highs and lows are inevitable because all the games have a loser and a winner, and when it’s done, they are the same number.
